This image says it all. Haiti has broken in pieces. The
presidential palace, seen here, has been destroyed. The government infrastructure, more than 80% of the main government offices,
has been paralysed and burried under concrete. The fate of the thousand of government employees is unknown. The
government provides more than 60% of jobs in the country. The school system is severelyy impaired. "My biggest problem
is the education of my children... their school is destroyed... I don't know where to send them and I don't know where
to leave them if I have to go outside to look for some future for them and for myself. I am affraid of leaving them by themselves
because you never know the earth might shake again and burried them alive, or burry me alive and they will be by themselves.
I cannot live with that thought. I rather perished with them..." This is part of a conversation that took place between
one of the members of our Coalition that we sent to Haiti to evaluate the biggest needs the Country and how we can help them.
The Capital, Port-au-Prince is destroyed but life has to go on for those who survive. The Haitian Coalition has
sent a team of doctors and other healthcare professionals to help. We plan and will send more. We will also send additional
medical supplies, food, money and water. We want to make this unforgetful event an opportunity to bring meaningful asistance
to the millions of Haitians left behind with a grim future and a horrible present to look at.
