Press Release - September 30, 2008

Even before four storms, Haiti often has been reported as one of the most wretched and hopeless places on the planet. Only 700 miles from the United States, it is considered the most impoverished nation in the Caribbean. Out of the 8.5 millions of Haitians, the majority live in poverty, about 60% live in rural areas.  Furthermore, about 60% of the national budget depends one way or another on outside assistance.  The damages caused by the tropical storm Fay on Aug. 15 and 16; the hurricane Gustav on Aug. 26; the tropical storm Hanna on Sept. 1st and the hurricane Ike on Sept. 6 and 7, are beyond repairs.  These recent tropical storms and hurricanes have left the already fragile Haitian economy in a perilous state...

... What are the people, especially children eating? Where are they sleeping? What medicine is available for first aid? Where is their hope?

...Please help us rescue thousands of friends and families in Haiti for the dire needs of basic survival.
